Emmet Reserves! On Monday night the Emmets Reserve team made the journey to Truagh for the quarter–final of the “Platinum Tanks” McKeown Cup. Short a few regulars through one thing or another; it was good to see a fairly strong side take the field. The game was entertaining and the Emmets led all the way until two minutes to go when the home side equalised with the score 0-12 for the Emmets to 2-06 for Truagh. As time played out; the last offering from the Emmets produced a winning point which was enough to see them proceed to the semi-final stage. A good work-rate probably helped the Emmets to victory while at the same time putting the opposing under shooting pressure which resulted in some scoring opportunities being wasted. However; given the overall scenario the Emmets just about deserved the win and thirteen points was a good indicator of their ability to take some lovely points. Emmets: Robbie Honney; Ferdia Holland; Adrian McCluskey; Padraig Marron; Adam Waller; David Eakin; Paddy Larney; John G Conlon; Kevin O’Hanlon; Jamie Gartlan; Ciaran Ward; Ryan Carolan; Ritchie Cromwell; Blain McEneaney; Sean Downey: Subs: Padraig Rafferty and Fergal McDermott:

The Young Emmets! At the weekend the under 14 (Division 2) team accounted for local rivals Magheracloone by a comfortable margin in the fourth round of the league. The result sees them “top the table” with six points from four games. The Division 5 team played their fifth round in their league and they turned out much too strong for a gallant Scotstown side who gave everything! They too stand proudly on top of the table with full points from four games; both games were played on the new grounds on the Donaghmoyne Road and both teams played some attractive football and keep improving with each game!
