Junior Football League
Round four of the league took us to Toome last Sunday. This was to be the battle of the table toppers. In retrospect this was the original ‘’ game of two halves”. The tale of the first half did not read well and deficit of five points , 0-6 to 2-5, certainly put the hundred percent record in the league under pressure. However, as with Lazerus, life was restored after half time. All missed opportunities, errors and turnovers were left in the dressing room and the players crabbed the opportunity to show their metal. A torrent of goals and points were to follow the restart and the home team was left shell shocked. On a wining score line of 3-15 to 3-05 the Seans won in tremendous style. The dizzy height of the top of the league is a good place to be after four games and long may it continue.
U14’S
The U14 squad had a home game against Eire Og on Saturday last. Coming from a defeat in the last round, the home side started well and maintained the solid performance throughout. Scores from Jamie McPhilips, Josh Hagan and Shane Freeman pushed the Seans well in front at half time. This lead was never to be caught by the opposition and all the players gave a very accomplished performance. Well done lads on a score of 6-13 to 0-9.
