Nicky Rackard Cup Round One
Fermanagh 1-12 Monaghan 5-12 23/4/16
Monaghan started their Nicky Rackard Cup campaign with a comfortable win over Fermanagh in Enniskillen on Saturday. Goals by Mark Treanor and Brian McGuigan (two) had Monaghan 3-6 to 0-10 up at half-time against a 14-man Fermanagh team weakened by Daniel Teague’s red card on 12 minutes. Seán Corrigan’s accuracy kept Fermanagh in touch, but Monaghan found the net again after the restart through Stephen Lambe, before McGuigan completed his hat-trick. Monaghan ran out convincing winners to set up a clash with Fingal in Round 2A next Saturday.
