Monaghan exited the Ulster MFL when they were edged out in this high-scoring semi-final after extra-time against Donegal in Clones last Saturday. The scores were level 11 times during the 60 minutes, with both teams kicking some superb points, before Donegal moved ahead in the extra 20 to end Monaghan’s three-game winning run. Donegal’s star forward Niall O’Donnell (0-14) edged his shoot-out with his Monaghan counterpart David Garland (0-11) in this free-flowing encounter. JD Boyle, Eoghan McGettigan Jason McGee and Aiden McLaughlin were also to the fore for Donegal, while Micheál Bannigan and Fergal Hanratty were prominent for Monaghan.
