The Corduff GAA Development Fund Jailbreak Fundraising Challenge launched last Friday in the Mountain Dew. See elsewhere for photos. A number of fundraisers will be held over the coming months to help our prisoners raise the funds needed.
Intermediate Team:
Our Intermediate team travelled to Cremartin last Saturday evening for Round 2 of the Monaghan Electrical Intermediate Football League. Played in heavy conditions, Cremartin ran out winners 2-09 to 0-08.
Due to Monaghan’s participation in the All-Ireland Under-21 Semi-Final on Saturday, the midweek game with Inniskeen has been postponed until a later date.
On Sunday 17th, we head to Scotshouse for an away game against Currin, with throw-in at 2:30pm.
Junior Team:
Our Junior team played Drumhowan in Round 2 of the Eurotech Junior Football League last Sunday. The team put in a spirited performance and were in the game with 15 minutes to go, but Drumhowan pulled away and eventually ran out 4 point winners, 0-16 to 2-06.
The Juniors face Toome this Sunday (17th April) in Corduff with the game starting at 4:30pm.
Minor Team:
Our Minor team played Aughnamullen on Tuesday night in the Minor Football League. A cracking game was played out, with Aughnamullen winning by the minimum, Aughnamullen 2-11 to 2-10.
The next outing is next Tuesday night against Truagh at 7:00pm in Corduff.
The Friends of Carrickmacross Cancer Society Football Match:
This Saturday (16th April) evening at 4:00pm, a football match featuring former players from the following clubs Corduff, Carrickmacross, Magheracloone, Killanny, Inniskeen, and Donaghmoyne will take place in Corduff. Players from each club will take part. Please give your support.

The U16s played their first game of the League on Tuesday evening. Report to follow next week.
GaelicForGirls:
The day has finally arrived for the first session of Gaelic4Girls which is this Saturday 16th April. It will focus on fun and participation, allowing girls to get an introduction to Ladies Gaelic Football in an non-competitive environment. It will be every Saturday morning from 10 am -11:30am on the pitch. Please take note that this Saturday everyone participating must be there at 9:45am to allow time for registration. If you have any queries contact programme co-ordinator Laura McEnaney on 0872652352. We would also like to wish Laura and her head coaches Fiona Keenan and Amy Treanor good luck with the programme.
County News:
Seniors: Monaghan played their last league match against Mayo last Sunday. Once again we were well represented in the league by Joint Captain Laura McEnaney, Naomi Cogan, Barbara Ward and Eva Woods. Naomi started on Sunday and made a positive impact.
Minors: Best wishes to Sarah McEnaney a member of the county minor team and to Fiona Keenan Minor Management in the second round of the Ulster Championship at home to Donegal this Saturday. Throw in at 3pm with venue to be confirmed.
The Big Breakfast:
Corduff Ladies would like to extend a massive thank you to everyone in the Corduff/Raferagh Community and beyond who supported our Big Breakfast last Sunday morning making it a huge success and by doing so helped to bail out our prisoner Mary McEneaney. The kitchen staff had the pans sizzling from early in the morning ensuring everyone had a hearthy breakfast. Thanks to the cooks, the helpers on the floor, the musicians, all our sponsors and The Community centre, not forgetting the Corduff Ladies committee who left no stone unturned with the preparations. This was the first event of the Corduff Gaels Jail Break Challenge and we hope all events are as successful.
JUVENILES:
Under 6 / Under 8 / Under 10:
Training as usual on Saturday from 10.00 to 11.15.
Under 12:
Corduff U12s are back in Spring League action on Saturday April 16th, away to Doohamlet. Throw in is 2pm.
Under 14:
Corduff U14s play Ballybay in a Round 2 league fixture on Thursday April 14th. Throw in at Corduff is 6.30pm.
HANDBALL:
24-Hour Handball Marathon:
The Handball Club will be running a 24-hour Handball marathon, in aid of the Corduff GFC Development Fund, beginning on Friday 29thApril, and culminating on Saturday 30th April. Sponsorship Cards are available from any Committee member.
