Jail-Break:
We are having our “Launch Night” of the Corduff GFC Jailbreak Fundraiser on Saturday 9th April at 9:00pm in the Mountain Dew. Please make a special effort to attend. Refreshments served on the night.
Intermediate Team:
A busy week lies ahead for the Intermediate Team as the Monaghan Electrical Intermediate Football League campaign continues.
On Saturday evening, a trip to Cremartin is in store with a 7:00pm throw-in, while on Wednesday evening, we welcome Inniskeen, also at 7:00pm. Sunday week sees the long journey to Scotshouse to face Currin with a 2:30pm throw-in. Please see next week’s notes for confirmation.
Junior Team:
The Junior team are in action in the Eurotech Junior Football League this Sunday with an away trip to Drumhowan, throw-in at 2:00pm.
Minor Team:
Well done to minor team who beat Magheracloone in a very well attended and contested game in Corduff on Sunday evening. There were some great passages of play and great scores from both sides in what were difficult conditions but Corduff just shaded it in the end on a score line of 4-13 to 4-07.
Next up is Aughnamullen away next Tuesday evening at 6:30pm.
Field Committee:
The first Field Committee meeting will take place this Friday night at 8:30pm in the Clubrooms.
The Friends of Carrickmacross Cancer Society Football Match
A football match featuring the former players from the following clubs Corduff, Carrickmacross, Magheracloone, Killanny, Inniskeen, and Donaghmoyne will take place in Corduff on Saturday 16th April. Players from each club will take part. Please give your support.

Training as usual on Saturday from 10.00 to 11.15.
Under 12:
Corduff U12s played their second game in the Spring League group stage, at home, on Saturday April 2nd. The Corduff team played well in difficult conditions and were unlucky to see a close game slip away in the final minutes.
Corduff (10pts) – (12pts) Oram
Their final group game is away to Doohamlet on Saturday April 16th. Throw in is 2pm.
Under 14:
Corduff U14s played their opening league fixture, away to Sean McDermotts, on Tuesday March 29th. Corduff played well in the first half, dominating possession, but were unable to make it count on the score board. Seans secured the 2 points with a strong second half performance. The final score in Páirc Sheáin Mhic Dhiarmada was:

LADIES:
Big Breakfast:
All roads lead to Corduff/Raferagh Community Centre this Sunday morning for the Corduff Ladies Big Breakfast. This is the first fundraising event in the Corduff GAA Jail Break Fundraising Challenge with all monies raised going towards club development. So we, Corduff Ladies, invite you all to join us for a good wholesome breakfast and bail Corduff Ladies out of jail by doing so! Breakfast will be served from 10am to 1pm. See you there, and bring a friend or two!
U14 League:
Corduff Ladies got the 2016 season off to a winning start when the U14s defeated Doohamlet on Monday evening. In what was a very competitive encounter Corduff team led by Captain Elena McEnaney gave a super team performance. Corduff dominated the opening exchanges but by the interval both teams were level. Doohamlet opened stronger in the second half and by mid way through the half the sides were level again. The Corduff girls dug deep and edged out a well deserved victory on a score line of 5-7 to 4-7. Well done to management and players on a great start to the season. A special word of praise to the three new players Erica Smyth, Kerrie Ann Walshe and Fiona Corrigan who made their debut with Corduff Ladies! The team was as follows: Ciara Farrelly, Abbie McGivney, Shannon Duffy, Emily Hegarty, Georgia Smyth, Abbie Finegan, Elena McEnaney, Kerrie Ann Walshe, Erica Smyth, Kayla Hand, Annie Brennan and Fiona Corrigan.
U16 League:
The U16 League commences next Tuesday with Corduff at home to Doohamlet. Time to be confirmed.
County Development Day:
Well done to Erica Smyth who proudly represented Corduff Ladies in the parade of clubs and in a guard of honour prior to the Monaghan Ladies Senior match against Kerry last Sunday. Unfortunately the result didn’t go Monaghan’s way. Once again we were well represented on the team by Laura McEnaney, Naomi Cogan, Barbara Ward and Eva Woods.
HANDBALL:
The Handball Club will be running a 24-hour Handball marathon, in aid of the Corduff GFC Development Fund, beginning on Friday 29thApril, and culminating on Saturday 30th April. Sponsorship Cards are available from any Committee member.
