U-16’s

Are playing Clann Na Gael this Thursday the 28th of April in Clones at 7pm. Please Support the lads.

Minors

Clones minors suffered their second defeat of the league campaign against Clann Na Gael an Oram Toome Combination on Friday evening last in a fast paced game in St Tiernachs Park. Yet again Clones got off to a great start with 3 unanswered points from Evan Mulvaney, Matthew Newell and David McCabe but they struck back with a goal and some fine points to lead by six at the break. Clones rolled up the sleeves in the 2nd half and set about their task to being the gap to 1pt with 2 penalties and a fortuitous lob of the keeper by Eamonn Hamill but Clann Na Gael finished strong with 2 late goals to win on a scoreline of 4-15 to 4-07. With the return of a few key players from injury hopefully the lads will get back to winning ways. Team and Scorers: Cian McCarney, Connor Reilly, Jack Lynch, Rian Kierans, Olly Clerkin (1-00), Matthew Newell(0-01), Matthew Rehill, Sean McElwaine (1-00), Declan McKernan (1-00), David McCabe (0-02), Evan Mulvaney (0-03), Daniel Connolly, Daragh Slowey, Tiernan Monaghan, James Cleary. Subs Eamonn Hamill (1-00), Henry Hipwell, Matthew Monaghan, Simon O’Connell.

Junior B’s

Had their fourth match of the year against Eire Og on Wednesday last. Unfortunately the lads were unable to pull off a win losing out on a scoreline of 3-12 to 1-14 but we will soon be out in the Championship against the same opposition so hopefully we will be able to turn over the result.

Seniors

Our senior’s had the first one of the league with a good 1-18 to 3-7 win over Oram down in Oram. In a game in which Clones always looked in control. A good opening period was topped off by a goal from the impressive Luke Rehill. An Oram goal before the break got them back into it and this was to be the tale of the match as Clones built up a strong lead on three occasions. A resilient Oram side twice fought back but thankfully Clones finished strongly to gain our first win of the Season. There was some excellent performances from the Clones lads and great scores taken with Adrian Alford, Eoin McQuaid, James Mealiff, Daragh Holland, Cian O’Connor and Sarto Quigley all getting on the scoresheet. Clones eventually ran out winners on a scoreline of 1-21 to 3-8. Hopefully the lads can build on this in the coming fixtures. Team: Tristan Reavey, Paul Connolly, Jake Rehill, James Gibson, Daragh Holland, Fintan Kelly, Ben Daly, Ethan Audley, Eoin McQuaid, Sarto Quigley, James Mealiff, Emmett McEntee, Luke Rehill, Adrian Alford, Cian O’Connor. Next up for the lads is local rivals Killevan in two weeks time.
