Next up for the U-12’s is the visit of Aughnamullen on Saturday the 2nd of April at 2pm. Please support the lads.
Junior B’s
The Junior B’s are back in action this Saturday evening in the Platinum Tanks Reserve Football League Division 3 against Oram at 5pm in Clones. Let’s hope the lads can build on the good start made a week ago. Please Support the lads.
Seniors
Sunday last seen the visit of Drumhowan to Clones for the first round of the Eurotech Junior Football League. This was a repeat of our opening fixture of the Intermediate League last year and unfortunately the result was the same with Drumhowan claiming the points. After a strong first half showing Clones went in at the break three points to the good. The game turned at the start of the 2nd half with Drumhowan registering two goals. Shortly after Clones were reduced to 13 men which severely hindered Clones getting back into the game. To their credit the Lads showed great heart in the last 20 minutes and still could have got something from the game with a bit more luck. The Senior team is next out against Toome in Toome on Saturday the 10th of April.
Well Done
To James Mealiff and the Monaghan U-21’s who won there Ulster Championship Quarter Final on Wednesday last with a 1-15 to 0-3 win over Fermanagh in Inniskeen. James was playing Centre Back and impressed throughout. Next up for the Monaghan lads is a trip to Pairc Esler in Newry on the 30th of March where they will play Armagh for a place in the Ulster Final.
Also to Fabian Beggan and the Monaghan Minors who opened their League campaign with a 1-16 to 1-12 win over Down in Inniskeen. Fabian played the full game and will be hoping to build on this next Saturday the 26th of March when they take on Armagh in the Athletic Grounds in Armagh at 12pm.
Good Luck
To the Monaghan Senior team who face Kerry in Clones this coming Sunday. Fintan and the lads will be hoping to get back to winning ways and secure Division 1 football for next Season in the process.
