GFC Gala Dinner Dance
Our dinner dance and presentation of JFL Winners Medals along with honouring the team of 25 years ago who also won the Dr. Ward Cup takes place on Saturday night 20 th February in the Riverbank. Admission is by ticket only and tickets priced at €30 are available from any Committee member.
Car draw
County star Darren Hughes did the honours for us on Saturday night and pulled the winning ticket for the car sponsored by Marrons. Castleblayney The winner of the car was Thomas Crawley Brooklyn USA and formally Killanny. Comhghairdeas Thomas. A big thank you to all the people who bought tickets for this very successful draw and to all the committee members who sold tickets and to Marrons who kindly sponsored the car. The profits made from this draw will go to tar mac around the Community Centre and dressing rooms.
Juvenie Presentation.
County star Darren Hughes presented the under 12 Runner up medals and a special mention to their mentors Noel McGahon, Cillian O Shea, Shane Dooley and Martin Burns. Next up was the victorious under 16 team to receive their medals led by their captain Eddie Walsh. Their mentors got a special mention Jimmy Gartlan, Damien Gartlan and Niall Kelly. Conor Russel captain of the winning minor team was very unlucky to get injured and unable to attend but his team received their medals and their mentors were Paul Kierans, Martin Burns and Ronan Duffy. We wish Conor a speedy recovery.
Members of the Donaghmoyne winning All Ireland ladies team were in attendance to present the winning medals to the victorious under 12 and minor teams. Cora Courtney, Tiny McConnon and Captain Eileen McElroy presented under 12 player of the year to Abby McCartney. Under 14 player of the year went to Niamh Tobin. Under 16 went to Sinead Gatllan and minor award went to Shauna McGahon.. Special awards from the Ladies club went to Tommy Gartlan, Tommy O Brien and Anna Brennen as a token of their appreciation for all the work down through the years.
