Jason McArdle Tournament
This year’s Jason McArdle tournament was a great success with upwards of 30 lads showing up to make it a special day once again. The standard of football was extremely high as always with Cian O’Connor lifting the cup after a hard fought 3-11 to 1-11 victory.
Congratulations
To James Mealiff who won an All-Ireland Freshers League Division 1 title with DCU on the 10th of December. By all reports an excellent display by the Dublin outfit and a major achievement by James running out 4-11 to 1-6 winners over UUJ. Best wishes to him and indeed all our players playing college football, in their upcoming championships.
Klubfunder
The club has launched a new way to help fundraise for the club. We are using a new site called www.klubfunder.com. Once on the site you search for St Tiernachs GFC and you can then play the club lotto/ buy tickets for the national draw or take part in our Last Man Standing competition for the National League. We will also be updating the site with any other fundraising initiatives that we may be running. This is an excellent service that can be used by our diaspora wherever they may be so please spread the word.
Congratulations
Patrick McCarville member of our Senior panel on his marriage to Clones woman Marion Shiels. A great day was had by all on New Years Eve with a lot of club members there to help celebrate. The club would like to wish the happy couple all the best in their future lives together.

ASIST which stands for Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training will be running a two day worshop in Clones. It looks at providing suicide first aid. The aim of ASIST is to “Create a suicide safer community”. Anyone who attended the Safetalk course prior to Christmas found it of great benefit. It is a problem the club are greatly aware of and we encourage our members to try and attend. There are only a few places left so if you are interested please contact Maureen McIntyre directly on 087 2954964.
Bag Packing in Super Valu over Christmas
Well done to all our Juveniles and all involved in the bag packing that was done in Super Valu on the 23rd and 24th of December. They raised up on €1,000 which is an amazing sum. Thank you everyone for supporting the lads. Thanks as well to Bernard and all in Super Valu for allowing the lads to Bag Pack in the shop.
