County Monaghan Group of Credit Unions Senior Football League Final

Scotstown v Truagh, Friday, 7.30, Emyvale

North-Monaghan neighbours Scotstown and Truagh contest the SFL Final under Emyvale’s lights on Friday night.

A week after losing the Ulster Club SFC Final after extra-time against Crossmaglen, Scotstown are bidding for a third consecutive league title and a second double in three years. The county champions finished top of the table and battled through a semi-final against Magheracloone, while Truagh, who are bidding for a first Owen Ward Cup since 1975, claimed third place before getting past Monaghan Harps after extra-time. Scotstown have already beaten Truagh three times this year, including a first-round SFC game.

Darren and Kieran Hughes, Rory Beggan, Shane Carey, Conor McCarthy, James Turley and Dónal Morgan are key players for Scotstown, while Daniel and Christopher McKenna, John McCarron and Rory Treanor are among the main men for Truagh, who are without the injured Paudie McKenna.
