Scór na nÓg competitions get underway on Saturday, 14 November in Sean Mc Dermott’s Sports Complex, Threemilehouse at 6 p.m. Drumhowan will be represented in Figure/Ceilí Dancing (Orlaith Brennan, Sinead Grogan, Cait Brennan, Aine Grogan, Christina Sherry, Annmarie Lavelle, Angie Mc Guirk, Lorna Mc Guirk), Recitation (Niall Grogan), Musical Group (Cait Brennan, Conor Quinn, Colm Mc Mahon, Finbarr Brennan, Daniel Tomany) Quiz (Colm Mc Mahon, Finbarr Brennan, Cait Brennan, Aodhan Brennan) and Set Dancing (Christina Sherry, Aine Grogan, Sinead Grogan, Megan Treanor, Lauren Duffy, Blinne Treanor, Angie Mc Guirk, Orlaith Brennan). Sinead Duffy will be representing St Brigid’s Ladies in Recitation. Good luck to all the competitors and if you can get out and support them.
Juvenile Indoor Winter Training Programme
This started last week and runs for the month of November on Saturday evenings from 5-45 to 6-45pm – U 8 age group this week will be over at 7pm as they will finish off with a game over the full hall.
It all takes place in Ballybay Recreation Centre and it’s open to all children aged 5 to 12 years old. Please wear tracksuit and runners and take a bottle of water, a skipping rope and one euro to cover hall rental costs.
We are looking for some extra people to help out so if your free come along please . Also looking help from current U14,16 and Minor players. Many hands make light work !!
Basic Awareness Courses – Monaghan GAA will be holding two Child Protection courses in Cloghan in the coming weeks. The first will be held on Wednesday 18 November running from 7-10pm. Cost per person is €10
A second course will be held on Wednesday 25 November, 7-10pm
It is recommended that all those who are involved within GAA clubs have completed a child protection course and this should be repeated every three years. This includes all coaches, committee members, referees, groundsmen, bus drivers and anyone else who may have direct contact with children.
Club Meeting – this Thursday evening the 12th of November at 9pm Chairperson Martin Mc Elearney has called a meeting to discuss the New Adult League Proposals. All senior players for 2016 are invited to attend to give their opinion. Don’t say you weren’t consulted.
AGM– don’t forget the Club’s AGM will take place on Thursday 26th November at 8pm. Nomination forms have now been sent out. If you haven’t received yours yet please contact secretary Paul at secretary.drumhowan.monaghan@gaa.ie Nomination form has to be returned by Tuesday 17th November. Only paid up members are entitled to vote.
National Club Draw Tickets – at this stage all books should have been distributed. Remember to sell all 10 tickets. This will help with our affiliation fees at the start of the new year. First Prize is an Opel Corsa Car. Other prizes include a trip to the 2016 All Stars, a travel voucher to the value of €1500, various all ireland football and hurling final ticket packages and €1000 shopping vouchers.
Gerry’s Prepared Veg And Take Away are holding their Annual Fundraising Dance this Saturday evening 14th November in Lisdoonan Community Centre with Declan Nerney performing. Club Chairperson Martin Mc Elearney has tickets available to purchase for €15
Sunday 22nd November – Second Model Toy and Mega Truck Show is being held at Glencarn Hotel from 12-6pm Proceeds for children with Down Syndrome and Castleblayney Care
