If you know of any children in these age groups who would like to attend please feel free to take them along any Monday or Thursday evening, we would only be delighted to see new faces. Any queries please ring Brian Sherry on 086 2334287 or Keith Hanratty on 086 8225982.

McMahons Supervalu 5K: With only a week and half to go to the McMahons Supervalu Castleblayney 5K the town has become a wash with high vis running jackets at night time with lots of people out practicing on the route. We would encourage the whole community to get involved, you don’t need to run to participate we are looking for people to walk and support as much as we are looking for runners. The event which has now become part of the calendar of the Castleblayney area has developed each year, with an increased number of people competing in the event .This year we will have current 800 metre record holder David Matthews joining us for the very popular question and answer sessions directly after the Race in the Glencarn Hotel. David will also be joined on stage by local athlete Tony Ward who is visually impaired yet just completed the New York Marathon in 3 Hours 29 minutes and Gerry Duffy who is a regular attendee at our 5K. We are looking for a big turn out, so why don’t you dust down those runners and let’s get walking, registration is available online at www.castleblayneyfaughs.com or www.Runireland.com or in McMahons Supervalu or you can give your money to any committee member.

Operation TransFAUGHSmation: The countdown is on as the finishing line is starting to appear for all the people in Operation TransFAUGHSmation, last Friday we had a great Boxercise class with Orla McCarthy followed by a great crowd for Sunday’s first trial of the race route, well done to everyone who participated the atmosphere was really fantastic as each participant got clapped home by the remainder of the group. Tuesday night see the group complete circuits before Chang McKenna puts everyone through their paces with his circuit class before we have our final run out on the course on Sunday morning. Can we ask each participant to take somebody along on the day of the run to take part; we would like to get as many people to take part as possible. Finally can we ask that all participants keep Friday 4th of December free for the annual OPTFM awards night, more details over the next few days but we wanted to give you plenty of notice to get the baby sitters organised for the best night of Operation TransFAUGHSmation

Welcome: The Club Under 14 hosted An Tóchar GAA Club from Roundwood in Wicklow last weekend, while the weather was poor there was plenty of craic as the boys went Bowling in GR8 on Saturday and they played a game on Sunday morning before they left to return to Wicklow, well done to the Under 14 Management team for organising the return visit.

St.Marys Park: You will see from your visits to St.Marys Park that the Senior Pitch has been closed for the foreseeable future, we would ask that all players would do their shooting practice down at the bottom goals at the Golf Course side of the Juvenile Pitch, we appreciate your cooperation, ultimately it will leave us with a better surface to play on in 2016.
