Philip Courtney Memorial Day: The Philip Courtney Memorial Day takes place this Sunday, the 15th of November. This year, it will commence with a 5k walk / run from Blackhill at noon, 12pm. We encourage anybody that is interested to come down to Blackhill early as registration for this event starts at 10:30am. It’s 10 euro to register with all money going to charity named below. It doesn’t matter how long it takes to get around the route as the kettle will be kept on for all. Then at 2:30pm (hopefully everyone will have returned from the walk!) there will be a football match in the field between old rivals McElvaney Motors and Kingspan. This will be followed by refreshments and entertainment by Beetroot in the clubhouse. There will be a raffle on the day with all proceeds going to Shabra Charity – Gene DNA Testing Equipment for the Mater Hospital, Dublin. This promises to be a great days entertainment to celebrate the life of Philip who would have turned 60 last month.
Emerald’s Weekly Draw: 1st Paddy Mc Shane, Monagor. 2nd Patrick Clarke, Tattygar. 3rd Eileen Finnegan, Broomfield.
Table Quiz: Will be held tomorrow night (Friday 13th) in Blackhill at 9pm in aid of Castleblayney Care. All support appreciated.
AGM: That time of year is upon us again and the AGM is currently fixed for the 4th of December. Application forms can be found behind the bar.
Sympathy: The club extends its sympathy to the family and friends of Breege Finnegan (nee Connolly), Dundalk. Breege was a sister of Peter Connolly, Drumheriff North and Aunty to current Dubai based footballer Stephen. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.
