Ready, Steady, Coach!
Are you the man or woman who will train the Gaeil Triucha senior footballers, hurlers, ladies footballers, camoige players or handballers in 5-10 yrs time?
The club are organising a coaching programme to be rolled out for 8-10 weeks beginning on fri Oct 9th.
The initiative is aimed at people who have a genuine interest in developing the youth of our parish across all the entire portfolio of sports promoted at St Mellans. ENTRY IS OPEN, WELCOMED AND ENCOURAGED FROM ALL WITHIN THE PARISH TO INCLUDE NEW AND EXISTING COACHES. We are particularly keen to hear from people who heretofore have not been involved or have not been involved in recent times at any rate. Whether your sport is football, hurling, handball, ladies football or camoige you will benefit from being here. Well Done: to our Senior Team who competed in the Kilmacud 7s last weekend. They done the club and county proud by reaching the final of the competition where they fell to tournament hosts Kilmacud on a scoreline of 5.7 to 1.11. Well done to all involved.

Juveniles
Keep Free: A 10k /5k Fun Run/ Walk will take place on Sunday 4th Oct in St Mellan’s,Please note change of date, Registration starts at 11am, Run starts 1pm
Owen Mc Kenna Blitz: takes place this Sunday 27th September at 3pm where the 4 local primary schools will compete for the Owen McKenna Memorial Cup. 5th and 6th class pupils are invited to take part. All welcome.
Hurlers:
U14s: Hard luck to the u14 team who were beaten by a very physically strong Cootehill side last Friday in the Shield. This brings to an end this teams involvement, well done on a very good years hurling.
Seniors: are due to play Mac Cumhails from Donegal next Sunday 4th October in the Ulster Club.
Senior Ladies
The senior ladies had no fixtures this weekend. They progress onto the semi final stages of the league campaign. No fixed date as of yet. The reserve final has been rescheduled to the 10th of October to accommodate Donaghmoyne who contest the Ulster Championship. Training continues tomorrow Friday and Wednesday at 8pm.
U-18 Girls
Our minor girls team had two hard earned but very well deserved victories in the league against Magheracloone and Tyholland respectively, during the last week. Team on duty over both these games were Shauna Mc Aree, Aoibhinn Treanor, Meghan Mc Kenna, Laura Mc Kenna, Ellen Deery, Emma Mc Aree, Niamh Fullen, Lauren Treanor, Sinead Rafferty, Leona Mc Kenna, Lynda Mc Meel, Clodagh Mc Meel, Ernesta Laureckyte, Morgan Mc Kenna, Seanna Mohan, Megan Mc Quaid, Ciara Treanor. This group of girls have now qualified for the knockout stages of this league competition. As yet the opposition, date, time and venue remain unconfirmed.
U12 Girls
Well done girls on a great performance in the play off against Killeen on Saturday. The game was a thrilling encounter and ended up in extra time. The girls showed great determination and ended the game with a 2 point win. Our semi final will be played on Saturday the 2nd of October at 2pm against Carrickmacross. Also girls don’t forget about your sponsorship cards for our U12 ‘Onsie’ walk around Emy Lake this Sunday at 2pm. Keep up the hard work girls, we are all very proud of your attitude and commitment at training.
Scór na bPáistí & Scór na nÓg Dates
The Scór na nÓg Competition (Under 17) will be held on 30th & 31st of October with the County Final on November 7th.
Scór na bPáistí (for Primary School children) will be held in Ionad CLG Sheáin Mhic Dhiarmada, Threemilehouse on Saturday October 10th at 7pm.
Competitions in Rince Foirne, Rince Seit, Solo Singing, Ballad Singing, Recitation, Group Music, Drama and Quiz.

Boot Camp: Continues in St. Mellans on a Monday and Wednesday evening from 7-8pm, €4 per person. Men and women welcome.
