Universal Graphics Junior Championship

Clap along if you know what happiness is to you…Because I’m happy… Clap along if you feel like that’s what you wanna do… Because I’m happy. I’ve been singing these lyrics since last Sunday evening after our senior footballers defeated Toome in the semi-final of the Universal Graphics Junior Football Championship. Okay, Okay, Okay, Okay…I know it wasn’t the prettiest of matches but at least we got the right result because we are through to the Universal Graphics Junior Football Championship Final…that sounds good, I think it deserves another mention, we are through to the Universal Graphics Junior Football Championship Final and I want to say a massive well done to all the lads and the management team for this achievement.  In fairness, it was not the most impressive performance that we have seen from the lads but it was effective. What we got from the team was a performance high on endeavour and over the next fortnight there is much work to be done because there is no doubt, absolutely no doubt, that we will have to improve significantly on our performance if we are to turn over a quality Blackhill outfit. For now through we will savour the excitement and fun of competing in a Junior Championship Final and we will look forward to an exciting and competitive encounter against Blackhill on Sunday 27th September 2015.

Eurotech Junior Football League

The lads are back in action this Saturday 19th September when they travel to play Toome and the game has a throw-in time of 5.30pm.

Under 8 Go Games Blitz

Last Saturday 12th September, our under 8 footballers travelled to Doohamlet to play in their last official go games blitz of the season. Unfortunately, due to other commitment I only stayed for a short while but while I was there they played games against Eire Og, Blackhill and Doohamlet. They were slow to get going but they responded well with some delightful football and all the kids really enjoyed the day. There was great energy and passion from all the players and the mentors and a high level of skill was shown. I have to say, the kids have performed really well throughout the season and have shown improvement as the year went on. This is a testament to the great work that is being carried out by our underage mentors and coaches and well done to all the under 8 coaches for their patience, encouragement and enthusiasm that they have given to the boys and girls at this level. We are very fortunate to have a good bunch of dedicated coaches and we sincerely thank you for your time and your efforts to give the kids a solid foundation for the future. Furthermore, a sincere thank you to all the parents who supported and encouraged the kids throughout the year and for helping out with transportation.

Under 10 Go Games Blitz

On Saturday 26th September the under 10 footballers will play their last go games blitz when they travel to Doohamlet.
