Intermediate Championship:
All roads lead to Clontibret last Saturday evening for the local derby Corduff V Carrickmacross in the McElvaney W & R Intermediate Championship. Having battled off Aughnamullen and having an impressive win over Currin Corduff were thoroughly tested by Carrick in this match and it didn’t go according to plan for Corduff. Carrick got off to a dream start with a goal in the 1st minute. It was the 7th minute before Corduff’s captain Keith McEnaney registered a score. Carrick had long spells in the ascendency for key passages of play and they went in with a 6 point advantage 0-3 to 1-06. Carrick’s dominance continued in the second half and Corduff will rue missed changes in front of goal scoring only 3 points. Carrick proved too strong and they claimed victory on a scoreline of 1-12 to 0-6. After falling to Carrick Corduff will be hoping to get things back on track and bounce back in the next round.
