U21: Emyvale qualified for the final of the U21 Division 2 Championship when they defeated Corduff in the semi-final two week ago. It was a tough match with both sides playing some great football & Emyvale won the game by a margin of four points. They then met Carrickmacross in the final last Friday evening but the opposition was just too strong on the night & they won by a comfortable margin. Emyvale put up a brave battle led by Captain Colin Hughes & never gave up blasting in a couple of goals near the end but Carrick was the better team on the night. Emyvale team & scorers: Paudie Hayes, Christopher Kerr, James Mc Kenna, Ben Mc Kenna, Mervyn Browne, Aaron Loughran, Conor Mc Quillan, Colin Hughes 1:0, Stephen O’Brien, Ryan Nestor, James O’Neill 1:3, Anthony O’Brien 0:2, Jack Kelly 0:1, David Mc Allister 0:2, Oisin Campbell. Subs. Kyle Hughes 0:1, Shane Gilbane, Rory Sherry 1:0, Aaron O’Neill. The man in the middle, Dermot Lynch, had a good game too & kept the game flowing so thanks to him. A special word of appreciation to the Carrickmacross team Physio who helped take care of one of our injured players the evening of the Final.
