Senior Men:

Monaghan Electrical Intermediate League:

Corduff made the journey to Tyholland last Wednesday for R16 of the Intermediate League. Due to a torrential downpour the start was delayed but when it did start  Corduff got on the score board from the throw-in with a point. This was followed with a goal from Keith McEnaney setting Corduff up with a good lead. Tyholland responded well and in the 18th minute added a goal to their tally with both sides level on 1-5 each. Tyholland added to this going in one ahead at the interval on 1-7 to 1-6. Once again the 2nd half opened with Corduff registering a quick point. From this Corduff pushed ahead with a 2nd goal coming from Jason Hand in the 10th minute. The visitors consolidated this by going ahead by 5 points. The hosts added to their tally once again reducing Corduff’s lead to a goal in the dying minutes. Corduff got the final score of the match and were victorious by 4 points on 2-13 to 1-12. This result earned the visitors 2 more valuable points on the league table.

McElvaney Recycling Intermediate Championship:

All roads lead to Inniskeen this Saturday evening the 15th August as we head into this weekends Intermediate Championship Preliminary Round Corduff V Aughnamullen. This clash is eagerly anticipated even though Corduff’s League form has been anything from perfect. There has always been competitive rivalry between these two outfits so we will be looking forward to an exciting encounter. We wish Manager Seamus McEnaney, his management team and the Corduff team good luck in this local derby. Throw-in is at 5:30pm in Inniskeen so we are calling on all supporters to make the short journey to Inniskeen on Saturday to support the team and management. Nothing beats being there!

Ladies:

Minors:

Minors returned to competitive action last Friday away to Castleblayney. Despite the fact that Corduff were missing some of the regulars we called on the services of our u14s in order to field a team. The girls all put in a massive effort in the first half putting Castleblayney under pressure. With Alana Kernan pulling off some super saves saves in goals and Chloe Finegan, Naoise Cunningham and Hannah Finegan scoring goals at the other end Corduff went in comfortably ahead at the interval 3-06 to 0-3 . In the 2nd half Castleblayney began stronger and were level by the 20th minute. By the final whistle Castleblayney won by 2 points. Despite being defeated our girls all deserve to be applauded especially the younger ones for putting in such a huge effort throughout.

The minor team will be in action again on Monday at home to Doohamlet in R4 of the league.

U16s:

Best wishes to the U16 team playing in the league semi-final this Saturday at home to Doohamlet with a 7:30pm throw-in. Please support.

County Team:

Congratulations to Laura Mac and the Monaghan Senior Ladies on beating Cavan last Saturday and by doing so booking a spot in the quarter final against Dublin. This game will be played on Saturday 22nd August in Clones.
