Seniors

Last Sunday was yet another historic day for the club as our senior team won yet another County Senior Hurling Championship. The club has now contested the last 17 finals in a row and have won 11 of the last 13 senior hurling championships. The team started very strongly on Sunday and this start was the key to victory with the team opening up a 0-5 to 0-0 lead in the first ten minutes. Goals in the first half from Hugh Byrne and Niall Garland saw the team take a 2-8 to 0-6 lead into the half-time interval. The second half was a tighter contest but a strong defensive display ensured that Blayney clinched their 27th senior hurling title on a scoreline of 2-13 to 0-9. Attention will now turn to the Ulster Club Championship and the team will look to build on last year’s success as they make the step up to the Intermediate grade. Thanks to McMahon’s Centra & Super Valu and to Peter McCaughey Funeral Directors for their sponsorship of the senior team throughout they year

An Gardaí Síochána have asked the club to ensure that no cars are parked on the grass verges at either side of the road at Concra when matches or training sessions are taking place. We would ask that all parents, coaches and supporters co-operate with this request
