Week four of the Kellogg’s GAA Cul Camps took place from Monday the 20th of July to Friday the 24th of July. Numbers on the camps continued to rise with an extra 205 children taking part in the same four camps as the previous year. Our biggest camp to date took place in Scotstown with 191 children taking part, 134 children attended the Donaghmoyne camp which was nearly double the number from the previous year, 123 children completed the Magheracloone camp and 63 attended the Latton camp.

With Monaghan winning the Anglo Celt cup on the Sunday, there was great excitement in all the camps throughout the week and this was especially true when Rory Beggan took the cup around the four camps. The children got the opportunity to take their photo with Rory, get his autograph or even ask him a question or two!
Thirty three children from the St Patrick’s Accomodation Centre attended the Scotstown camp. It’s great to see children from different backgrounds attending the camp and hopefully this will inspire them to take up Gaelic Games in the future.

Monaghan Coaching & Games Development Committee would like to thank the host clubs for providing their excellent facilities and for supporting and promoting the camps. Furthermore they would like to thank camp co-ordinators, coaches, parents and children for their help in ensuring the camps where a success.

This week there are three camps taking place in Emyvale, Aghabog and Corduff. This is our last week of the Kellogg’s Cul Camps for 2015. It’s hard to believe we are nearly finished the camps for another year!

In the last two weeks of the camps we have had the unfortunate incident of running out of Cul Camp kits and backpacks due to the overwhelmingly large numbers that have attended the camp but don’t worry any child who still has to receive their kit and backpack will do so as soon as possible. A member of the Monaghan Coaching & Games staff will be in touch with all the parents to let them know the pickup point and collection time.

Please see below for a selection of photos from the camps.
