Magheracloone Notes

Lotto Results. The numbers drawn in the Club Lotto on Monday, 13th July were 2, 7, 9 and 17. The Jackpot was not won this week. The four winners in the Lucky Dip were Patrick Finnegan, Murtaghs, Liam Reid, Tallanstown, Peter McEntegart, (D.D.) and Steven O’ Hara, Carrickmacross. The next draw will take place in the clubrooms on Monday, 20th July and the Jackpot will be 4,900 euro.

 

Results.  The senior team travelled to Ballybay on Sunday last for another important league game. Magheracloone played some superb football and claimed the points on a final score-line of 2-14 to 0-9. This victory saw the team climb a number of places in the league  but the next couple of games, both at home, will go a long way in determining the final league standings for the year. Come out and support the club in these upcoming home fixtures to help ensure that the victories continue to come their way!!

The Reserves had to field a weakened team in their encounter with Latton and failed to claim the points at home. Despite some fine performances from the veteran players the points went the way of the visitors.

 

Minor Cup. The minor team made the trip to Truagh on Tuesday evening and put up a strong performance to claim victory on a score-line of 2-13 to 1-10 in the Division One Cup. This victory puts the team in a strong position in the race for qualification for the final in the difficult games still to come.

 

Under-12.  The Under-12 team made the trip to Carrickmacross and lost out on a score of 4-8 to 3-5. This completes the league section for this team for this year.

 

 

 

Fixtures. The Reserve game fixed for this Saturday versus Scotstown has been postponed until a later date.

 

Under-21 Division semi-final. The semi-final of the Division One competition at Under- 21 level will take place in Magheracloone on this Friday evening. The opposition will be provided by Truagh and the game will throw in at 7.45. This team has provided some great entertainment and brought success to the club in the past few years and confidence as the big game approaches. Please come out to support this young team in its efforts to bring more silverware to the club.

Under-16.  The league continues on this Thursday with a home fixture versus Emyvale. This Division Two encounter is timed to start at 7.30.This is a clash between two teams that sit in the top spots in the league and both will be looking for victory to keep them in pole position.

 

Under-14.  The Under-14 team have their next league encounter on Saturday with an away game versus Donaghmoyne. This game is fixed to begin at 1.15. The Magheracloone team lead the standings in the Division Two table and will want to continue their winning ways on Saturday.

 

Minor Championship.  Carrickmacross will provide the opposition in the quarter-final of the minor championship which will take place on Tuesday evening next at 7.30. Carrickmacross will have the advantage of the home venue but the Magheracloone team will make the short journey with a lot of confidence and will hope to build on this week’s strong league performance.

 

Cul Camp.  Don’t forget that Magheracloone’s Cul Camp runs from Monday 20th July. It’s still not too late to join in this annual sports and fun camp. The camp will run from 10.00 to 2.30 each day from Monday to Friday.

 

Congratulations. All in the club wish to congratulate Fr. Michael Gilsenan who celebrates the jubilee of his ordination to the priesthood in the parish this week-end. Fr. Michael has been an ardent supporter of the club since childhood and the club look forward to his continued support for many years to come. I’m sure many club members will join in the celebrations at the week-end to mark this special occasion.
