Ladies:

It was Intermediate Championship time last Friday with Corduff Senior ladies away to Aughnamullen in the quarter final. In more ways than one this was certainly a game of two halves. Corduff now had the momentum with Naomi Cogan, Emma Byrne and Eva Woods adding points to the Corduff tally along with Barbara Ward adding 2 more valuable points before the interval. After an impressive display in the first half with Corduff totally dominating play from the goalie to the forwards and they were ahead on a comfortable margain of 1-09 to 0-3 by the half time whistle.

New half, new referee! Jim Shannon who was referee in the first half sustained an injury and was replaced by Mary O’Callaghan for the second half. Corduff were on the scoreboard immediately after the restart with 2 points from Sinead McEneaney. These were to be the last scores from Corduff. It was Aughnamullen that quickly found their rhythm in the second half by totally domination play and launching a second half comeback.

Aughnamullem added to their scoring tally holding Corduff scoreless for the remainder of the half and the hosts and went ahead by 2 points  in the dying moments of normal time. With it all to play for going into injury time Corduff failed to respond  and Aughnamullen  won by a goal on a score line of  1-11 to 2-11.
