Ulster Senior Football Championship Semi-Final
Monaghan 1-20 Fermanagh 0-13 21/6/15
Monaghan are through to a third consecutive Ulster SFC Final after this win over Fermanagh at Kingspan Breffni Park. A strong finish to the first half saw points by Conor McManus and Darren Hughes send Monaghan in with the edge and they moved six clear by the 50-minute mark, but Fermanagh rallied, with two Declan McCusker points, either side of a long-range free by Seán Quigley, halving their deficit. Fermanagh then had Ryan McCluskey sent off, however, and Monaghan pulled away, with McManus scoring the only goal to take his tally to 1-6, which led a group of 11 scorers for Malachy O’Rourke’s side. Substitutes Owen Duffy, Christopher McGuinness and Stephen Gollogly weighed in with a combined five points for Monaghan, who also had performances from the likes of Kieran Hughes, Dessie Mone, Karl O’Connell, Vincent Corey and Ryan Wylie. Monaghan will play the winners of next Saturday’s semi-final between Donegal and Derry in the final at Clones on July 19.
