3rd & 4th Class Boys & Girls Football GoGames Blitz

On Wednesday the 27th and Thursday the 28th of May, Monaghan Coaching & Games organised a 3rd and 4th Class Boys & Girls Football GoGames Blitz. This blitz brings an end to our Full Time Staff School’s Coaching Programme for the school year. All schools in the county are invited to come along and take part in the blitz. For the first time ever a separate blitz was organised for girls/ mixed teams to take part in. Up until now, the blitzes focused on mixed teams/ boys teams. This aspect of the blitz went well with over 11 teams (10 schools) taking part in the blitz over the two days. In total 17 schools took part in the GoGames blitz with over 30 teams taking part. The only downside to the blitz was the weather! Unfortunately both days were effected by poor weather but this didn’t stop the enthusiasm of the children to compete to the best of their ability. In total over 300 children took part in the blitz over the two days.We would just like to thank all the schools and their teachers for taking the time out of their busy schedules  to come and take part in the blitz. We know this is a busy time of the year for schools and we really appreciate the effort in attending the blitz. Please see below for a selection of photos from the blitz.

Intercultural GoGames Blitz

As part of the Summer GoGames Blitz, Monaghan Coaching & Games under the coordination of our Inclusion Officer Ann McKenna organised an Intercultural GoGames blitz for schools and children from non-GAA backgrounds. The blitz took place at the same time and the same venue as the 3rd and 4th class Football blitz. In total 5 schools (7 teams) took part in the Intercultural blitz. Over 50 children took part in this blitz which was great to see and hopefully the children enjoyed the day and feel inspired to take up Gaelic Football in the future. Please see below for a group photo of all the children who took part in the Intercultural Blitz (Scoil Eanna Ballybay are missing from the photo). The five schools who entered a team into the blitz where St Tiarnach’s NS Clones, Castleblayney BNS, Scoil Eanna Ballybay, Clontibret NS and Monaghan Model School. We would like to thank these schools and their teachers for coming to take part in this blitz and are already looking forward to get back working within these schools next September.
