 Under 16
The u16’s started their league campaign last Thursday with a good away win against Doohamlet…..2-5 apiece at half time Killanny pushed on in the second half with a fine goal by Darren Leegan and good team move that was finished to the net by Conor Grimes…..good performances from Joshua Martin and Ciaran Guinan in the backs while Callum Murray covered a lot of ground in the middle, up front Darren Leegan and Conor Grimes ended the match with 2-7 between…..next week we have Maghercloone at home

UNDER 14:  We entertained a strong Ballybay side at home on Saturday last in our second match of the league campaign. Having lost our first match in a tightly contested affair the boys were very determined to win this encounter . From the kick off all of the boys gave what can only be described as an “ outstanding performance” . The game was played at a very quick pace and the boys all worked together as one. Both the kicking and passing was excellent and Ballybay found it very hard to get the ball pass the midfield mark. This was reflected in the half time scoreline of 5-14 to 0-2 in favour of Killanny.  In the second half the pace of the play naturally slowed down a little but the standard of play didn’t. While Ballybay got more into the game in the second half we continued to get a number of lovely scores with Darren Leegan  being our top scorer on the day with an impressive scoreline of 3-5. The final score on the day was 7-19 to 3-4 in favour of Killanny.  It would be impossible to single out individual players who played well on the day as each and every member of the panel gave 100% from beginning to end and we look forward to watching them give the same commitment and instensity again in their next match against a strong Annaghmullen team . Well done to all the players and coaches involved!

Easter Camp…..
We held our first GAA Easter Camp last week in Pairc Éanna. A great three days was had by all in attendance. There was over thirty children in attendance from the parish and further afield with two children from Germany who were visiting relations in the parish also taking part. The children were coached in the skills of Gaelic Football, Hurling, Rounders as well as taking part in fun games throughout the week. The mini leagues were also keenly contested and took out the competitive edge in many of the children.
The club wish to thank the coaches who volunteered their time for the camp and the Killanny Ladies club who also provided coaches and assistance throughout the week.
Finally a special thanks to Mary O Callaghan for supplying equipment for the camp and to Shane Connolly (Connolly’s Pharmacy, Carrickmacross) for sponsoring a new set of U8/U10 goals.
