Sean Mc Dermotts Notes

By Mary McEneaney Tue 24th Mar

Junior Football League Rd.1

Our senior team made their maiden voyage to Eire Og  lastSunday for the first round of the league.  The weather was bright and a lively wind was set to give the home side an early advantage. However it was score for score in the first half with the Seans edging their advantage at half time 7 points to 4. Sterling performances from our more seasoned players, EunanMc Entee, Damian Larkin and Marty Kieran gave us the upper hand in the second half. Some great movement of the ball brought the majority of our scores from play. The opposition rallied late with two  goals but it wasn’t enough and the Seansopened their account in the Junior League with a win 2-6 to 1-15. A credible display for the first outing but the league is never won in March and its onwards and upwards.

U-12’s

Our U12’s had their first competitive outing on Saturday last with a good win over Rockcorry on a scoreline of 5-6 to 1-5. There was a great turnout with nineteen players and this will hopefully increase for future games.  The match was played in great spirit with some great passages of play from the goal keeper all the way to the forward line resulting in some fine scores.  The commitment shown from all players bodes well for the upcoming games.  All eligible players are encouraged to keep up the training on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings.’
