Juveniles County Double Championships. As we went to print we had no confirmation of the Juvenile county double championships that are penciled in to take place this weekend the 21st of March, but if we hear in the meantime all we can do is to ring around with the fixtures.

Congratulations. The club would like to congratulate our neighbouring handballer from Emyvale Darren Doherty as he took the U21 Singles All Ireland title at the weekend, there he defeated Niall Bolton from Clare in a very tight battle but prevailed 21-19, 21-18, congratulations Darren, keep the Farney flag flying.

BAWN HANDBALL

Bawn handball club,  we ran the 2nd killian mc elroy memorial blitz last weekend with players from monaghan harps, tydavnet, corduff and carrickmacross joining our own players in a action packed weekend. Sunday morning seen us down to the semi final stages and four bawn men made it through,  Michael clerkin faced Eugene mc geough and Michael Duffy Jr faced Gary mc elroy,  after two hard fought semis the two Michaels made the final,  before a capacity crowd both men put on a magnificent display of handball and after two hard fought games a tie break to 11 was needed to find the winner Michael Duffy Jr emerging victorious 11-6 and lifting the memorial trophy. The club and the mc elroy family would like to thank everyone who helped make it a great weekend,  the players, those who gave spot prizes and made tea and sandwiches, also thanks to brendan mc cahey for dropping in and Rory from the northern standard for the photos.
