Dermot Mc Kenna RIP

March 17th, 2015

Coiste Chontae Mhuineacháin would like to offer its sympathy to the family and friends of Dermot Mc Kenna, Glaslough  who died suddenly last Friday. Dermot played for Emyvale and Monaghan and was a panelist on the 1988 Ulster Championship winning team. Please see  the below words from PJ Mc Kenna, Emyvale  on Dermot

“I was fortunate to have a player of the calibre of Dermot Mc Kenna available to me while I was manager of Emyvale. He was the most athletic player I ever came across. Having worked with all grades of County teams from u-16  development, to minor, U-21 and senior I never saw anyone to match his explosive burst of speed off the mark or with better agility. His speed of turn and the height he could jump for a ball from a stationary position stand out in my mind. Dermot could have excelled at various sports. A truly natural athlete! May he rest in Peace.”

Dermot’s funeral Mass will take place tomorrow morning, Wednesday 18th March at 11pm in St. Mary’s Church Donagh. Glaslough. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam
