Coiste Chontae Mhuineacháin would like to offer its sympathy to the family and friends of Dermot Mc Kenna, Glaslough who died suddenly last Friday. “I was fortunate to have a player of the calibre of Dermot Mc Kenna available to me while I was manager of Emyvale. He was the most athletic player I ever came across. Having worked with all grades of County teams from u-16 development, to minor, U-21 and senior I never saw anyone to match his explosive burst of speed off the mark or with better agility. His speed of turn and the height he could jump for a ball from a stationary position stand out in my mind. Dermot could have excelled at various sports. A truly natural athlete! May he rest in Peace.”
