It was announced at last nights county committee meeting that the Department for Transport ,Tourism and Sport has this week launched the Sports Capital Grant Programme 2015.
This is the main sports-specific capital grant programme available to GAA clubs in the republic. A fund of €40 million is availablefor development of sports facilities and the purchasing of sports equipment.
Applications are now sought from sports clubs, voluntary and community groups, national governing bodies of sport and local authorities. Application can only be made online at www.sportscapitalprogramme.ie
Clubs will firstly need to register through the online registration system “OSCAR” beforehand. The OSCAR registration deadline is Friday 10th April by 5pm. In order to register clubs will need to quote their Tax Registration Number (TRN).
Obtaining your TRN:
•You will need written confirmation of the TRN from the Revenue Commissioner prior to completing the registration process either in the form of a tax clearance certificate or a letter from Revenue confirming your TRN. This can take several days so get on this.
•All you have to do is complete the 1 page form Registration Form for voluntary non-profit making organisations and return to your local Revenue Office. It should take around 10 working days to get written confirmation of your TRN.
Following OSCAR registration clubs should note that the Application deadline is Friday 24th April by 5pm

If you require assistance with your application County Development Officer Francis Ward will endeavour to set-up a 30 minute advice slot where your club can meet/speak with a member Ulster GAA staff to review your completed application.
Clubs should have their application form completed, or very close to it, before seeking help. Francis would hope to choose a day between 13-17th April for the ‘Advice Clinic’, as clubs will need time to take any feedback into account prior to the 24th April deadline.
