Reserve Team Management
I am pleased to announce that Sean Rooney has been appointed as our reserve team manager for the upcoming year. On accepting his role Sean highlighted that he was delighted and excited to be back on board and looked forward to continuing to work closely with all the players and the senior team management during the year to help the club achieve their goals. He emphasised that he was in contact with a couple of people with regards to his back-room team and will confirm names in due course. On behalf of the club I would like to wish Sean and the team every success on the playing field for the year ahead and on that note I would like to point out that it is anticipated that the reserve football league will commence on Sunday 8th March (TBC) so it is important that all players continue to work hard and attend training.

Senior Team Selector
At our first committee meeting, held last night Wednesday 28th January, Jimmy McGeough was ratified as a team selector for the senior team. Jimmy served as a team selector last year along-side Mickey Morgan and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge and I would like to wish him all the best in his role for the year ahead.

‘Ungooogleable’ Table Quiz
Do you remember when table quizzes provided both a test and a challenge? Where the brightest and smartest team always prevailed! Nowadays, the challenge is over because not it’s the team who can access the answers the quickest via their Google and on their Smartphones. Wouldn’t it be great if there was a quiz to once again pit team v team based on intelligence rather than one’s ability to Google? Well let’s see how much you really know, without the use of your Smartphone, because our senior team have decided to hold a table quiz on a date formally to be advised. Each team will have four people and costs €40 per team and your support for this fund raising event would be deeply appreciated. Refreshments will also be served on the night so come and join in for a relaxed night of questions and general knowledge trivia with fellow club members and friends and have a bit of a laugh among friends. You don’t have to be Einstein….but it wouldn’t hurt to have one at the table!!!

Parish Concert
Last year’s Parish Variety Concert turned out to be wildly successful and undoubtedly was an incredible night’s entertainment which we all enjoyed. This year’s Parish Variety Concert which will take place over the St. Patrick’s Day weekend and we want to put on another memorable show so please do not let the side down. The concert is open to everyone and anyone who is willing to take part in the concert so please get in touch.
