2014 ADULT IRISH NATIONALS
The 40×20 Adult Irish Nationals took place last weekend at venues in Kilkenny, Carlow and Laois.
Almost 200 of Ireland’s top handballers slugged it out all weekend with only the fittest and strongest left standing on Sunday for the finals. The event was extremely well run with almost every game being played on schedule. Killian Carroll won the Men’s Open with displays of agility and speed that wowed everyone in the packed audience. Catriona Casey won the Ladies Open defeating Asling Reilly and cementing her position as the best female handballer in the world.
Monaghan had a number of players competing. All, bar one.were defeated in the early rounds. Only Paul Cassidy from Tydavnet Handball Club reached the finals on Sunday and came out the eventual winner of the Golden Masters.
