Scotstown Notes

By Mary McEneaney Tue 16th Sep

Gormley uPVC Senior Football Championship: Well done to our senior team on making it to another Gormley uPVC Senior Championship final. They played Blayney last Sunday in a low key affair, where the first half was tight and close. Blayney carried a two point lead for 20mins of the game at least, but then it was level at 4pts each on 23mins. As the half progress Scotstown went into break in front by 8pts to 7. In the opening 3rd quarter the game was still in a balance with Scotstown edging it by 10pts to 8, then on 45mins Conor McCarthy put away a well taking goal, this seem to inspire the team and when they added a second goal through Shane Carey, the contest ended with a good win in the end. Team: Rory Beggan (0-1); Mark Duffy; Peter O Hara; Padraig Keenan; Damien McArdle; James Turley (0-1); Donal Morgan; Francis Caulfield; David McCague (0-1); Darren Hughes (0-2); Shane Carey (1-1); Mark Treanor (0-3); Conor McCarthy (1-3); Kieran Hughes; Orin Heaphey (0-1).
