On Sunday 28th September a massive fundraising event will be held in Castleblayney in aid of Our Lady’s Childrens Hospital Crumlin. Our motivation for organising this fundraiser comes from the exceptional care our baby daughter received whilst in the Cardiac Centre in Crumlin hospital. This is event is supported by Castleblayney Faughs.
On the 6th September 2014 our beautiful baby girl Robyn Rosemary was born. Robyn was extremely content and thrived as a new baby. However at 13 weeks following concerns regarding chest infection like symptoms Robyn was completely unexpectedly diagnosed with a serious congenital heart condition. At this time Robyn had a stent put in place. Thankfully under regular supervision from the fabulous Dr Oslizlok in Crumlin, Robyn continued to do extremely well and was able to wait until she was significantly bigger to have her full surgery. At 7.5 mths Robyn had open heart surgery which is also known as a “full repair”.
Whilst in Crumlin we were in awe of the dedication, compassion and excellence in care that our precious little girl received at all times. This week our little woman turns one. We are and will always be eternally grateful to all the doctors and nurses and indeed Crumlin hospital for what they have done for our baby and our family. Every time she smiles or shares a hugs she lights up our world and we are reminded how blessed we are.
Crumlin hospital however continues to need funding to enhance its services and to ensure our children when at their most vulnerable get what they deserve – the best. We hope that our family orientated fundraising event will help in some way.
On sunday the 28th we promise lots of fun as we take to the roads to walk with our little ones or for the fabulously fit to run the 5 or 10k. This event will start at smiths lake at 12.30 am (registration from 11.30am). On return to smiths lake there will be more fun in store for all the family including bouncy castles, face painting, prizes for kids in best fancy dress, refreshments, music and craic.
So please come along and support this worthy event whilst enjoying another precious Sunday with your family and …
” let your generous hearts
Help mend the little hearts”.
Thank you in advance for your support
