By Majella Boyd Tue 2nd Sep

Senior Championship

Clontibret 2-13, Latton 0-8. A good win against Latton to put us into the semi-final against either Ballybay or Truagh on Sunday, 14th September at 2pm.

Senior League

We have a home game against Doohamlet this Sunday at 12.30pm. We are pencilled in to play Magheracloone away on Saturday, 20th September, and are also fixed to play ‘Blayney, also away, on Saturday, 27th September.

Minors

Clontibret 1-10, Truagh 1-12. We lost out by two in the league final against Truagh on Sunday. We squandered a lot of chances in the first half which cost us dearly in the end. The team on the day was: Adrian McGuirk, Dean Brennan, Cathal Gorman, Gerard Gorman, Donal McElvaney, Cormac Boyle, Martin Moen, Francis Hughes, Killian Lavelle, Michael Savage, Stephen Mohan, Dylan Connolly, Francis McNally, Conor Doyle, Ryan O’Neill. Subs: Dean McDonnell, Jack Gormley, Colin Todd, Conor Moen, Dean McGuigan, Seanan McCague, Darragh Hughes, Shane Deery, Christopher McDermott, Darren Mohan, Ross Lowey.

We are in the Division 2 championship final against Doohamlet which may be played on the weekend 13th/14th September.

U14 League

We play Cremartin in the league final this Saturday in Blackhill at 2.30pm. The very best of luck to all the boys and the management.

U12s

Clontibret 5-8, Donaghmoyne B 1-8. A very determined display against a gallant Donaghmoyne team in ‘Blayney on Saturday last culminated in us capturing the u12 Division 2B league title. Playing against the wind in the first half, two goals kept us in touch as we went to half time 2-2 to 0-7 in front. In the second half however, the boys really came into their own, and scored 3-6 to Donaghmoyne’s 1-1 to end on a final socre of 5-8 to 1-8. Amid great celebrations, the cup was presented to captain fantastic Darren McMahon by our own Conor McManus. The victorious team were as follows: Kyle Dunlop, Shane Myers, James Carey, Jack Dunlop, Caolan Keenan, Patrick Keenan, Darren McMahon, Conor Brady, Brian Macklin, Jack Coyle, Aaron Carey. Jack Flynn, Mark Fitzpatrick, Shane McEnaney, Dara Brennan, Lewis Brady, Lorcan Brennan, Emmet McSkeane, Conor Mohan, Ian Walshe, Ryan Greenan, Darragh Keenan.

Many thanks to the management team of Seamus Duffy, Padraig McGuigan, Rodney Gorman and Paddy Keenan for their sterling work and dedication to this group of young players throughout the year.
