U16’s: Victory for the U16’s in the Div3 final against Patrick Emmett’s. A glorious morning in Smithborough saw Clones take on neighbours  and school friends Patrick  Emmetts Currin Gaa / Aghabog Gfc) in the Championship decider. The game was level early on with Clones opening up a slight lead with less than 10 minutes to half time. A brilliant period of dominance saw Clones score three unanswered goals before the break and we went in at half time with a commanding lead 4 09 to 0 05. We added to the lead early in the second half with a penalty goal and a point from a 45. Remarkably, those were the only scores that Clones notched up in the second half which saw an 18 point lead, gradually and agonizingly decrease by the minute but for the leadership of our experienced players this could’ve ended even more dramatically. Thankfully the lads were able to hang on and bring home a second successive U16 championship title. The future looks good for Clones.  Final Score Clones 5 10 Patrick Emmetts 4 11 a two point victory. A huge thank-you to the parents, mentors and sponsors who produced the team to perform so well on the day. Cluain Eois ABU
Seniors: There was huge Disappointment for our senior team who met a Corduff team firing on all cylinders on Saturday evening in Scotstown.  Two points behind at half time and bar a sloppy goal we were with them all the way.  Second half was a different story and Corduff simply clicked everywhere on the field in the second half. We needed the first score of the second half and when that failed to materialize and Corduff worked their scores the writing was on the wall, in fairness though the Clones lads gave there all and after licking their wounds will focus on the league where we’re still in the hunt for a play-off place. The next three weekends will be huge when we’re away to Sean’s and at home to Carrickmacross and finally Rockcorry.
Juveniles: We travelled with the Under 8’s to Scotstown on Saturday morning to take part in a blitz. We were pitched up against Three Scotstown teams and produced some fantastic displays all morning. Well done kids. Team:Darragh McElvaney, Calum O’Gorman, Thomas Mulhall, Michael McCaughey, Jamie McCaughey, James Bell Johnson, Caoláin Clerkin, Ceara Monaghan, Ordhran McPhillips and Darragh Slowey.
Other Sports: This week on other sports a big congratulations to former players Mark Connolly and Jonathan Douglas who both scored winning goals for their respective teams across the pond last weekend. Mark for Kilmarnock and Jonathan for Brentford. Well done lads.  Another milestone for Patrick Murray as he scored his first Field Goal for Tampa Bay last Sunday. The game ended in a two point defeat but Patrick has kept his 100% record so far.
Next up is the Atlanta Falcons this Saturday Morning.
Faraway in the USA: congratulations to Clones lynchpins Darren Freeman and Lonan Maguire who are into a Senior Football final in New York, the lads take on Kerry in the final and we wish them continued success.
