Seniors: Aughnamullen get the points against Killeevan game they now play away to Toome on Saturday the 4th of October at 5pm. All support welcome.
Under 16: Our U16 Boys brought home their 1st Cup this year with a proud display of Championship football. It was a truely inspirational game by Aughnamullen players and proudly mentored by Colm Reyburn & Patrick Geoghegan and in the absence of a inspirational Mentor Owen Bannigan R.I.P. Lead by their team Captain Stephen Geoghegan, a disciplined display of teamwork along side some wonderful scores proved to be the key for Aughnamullen. Our Boys showed their true colours with a great opening score from Darren Geoghegan which got them very quickly into the game followed by a concession of points which gave them a 10 point lead at half time. Their great defence created opportunies for our forwards to continue the great scores. Aughnamullen kept the opening lead and controlled the later half of the game and proved to strong for Emyvale to leave the final score of Aughnamullen 2-24 to Emyvale 1-10. They done their club proud. Aughnamullen have spent this week fine tuning their preparations for what they know is going to be another extremely tough assignment against Carrickmarcross in the League final on Saturday next the 27th in Killanny at 12pm.. Best of luck to the Mentors Colm Reyburn & Patrick Geoghegan & the U16 team on Saturday in the League final. Come out and support our boys and help them win the double. Team and Scores as follows. Parish League: Our Annual parish league will be held this Sunday the 28th of September at 12:30pm. Anyone from 2nd to 6th class are all welcome.
Charity Nite: There will be a presentation to Castleblayney Cancer society in Aughnamullen social centre on Sunday night next the 28th of September at 8pm. This will be the proceeds of the over 40’s charity match that was held two weeks ago. The dvd of the match will be showing after the presentation. The organisers would like to thank all those who played, helped out in any way and those who gave so generously on the day. The dvd promises to be great fun and is now on sale in the club.
Date to keep free: Our Anual Vintage show will take place on Sunday the 26th of October. A day full of fun an interesting games. More details in next week..
