 Under 12 semi final
Well done to the Killanny U12 team who emerged victorious following a titanic struggle with Truagh in the division 1 league semi final played in Pairc Eanna on Friday evening past. The Killanny boys got off to a good start with some fine scores from Dara O’ Shea, Kyle Connolly and Cian Burns, Truagh however were well up for the game and there was nothing easy for the Killanny boys. Cillian McConnon, John Gartlan and Cian McNulty worked tirelessly through out and this laid the foundation for our success. At the end of the first 3rd Killanny lead on a scoreline of 7 points to 5.

In the middle 3rd of the match Killanny had good performances in defence from Tomas Gartlan and James Finnegan, while James Callan dominated midfield. Ciaran Finnegan, Mickey Grimes and Conor Burns were a constant threat in the Killanny attack.

Both sides swapped scores in the opening minutes of the final 3rd of the game, but with 10 minutes left to play Truagh scored a goal which brought the sides level. The Killanny boys however refused to surrender and lead by David Leegan surged upfield for Ciaran Walsh to score a superb goal and this was followed by a point from distance from Oisin Burns. In the dying moments of the game Truagh laid siege to the Killanny goal and were it not for the heroics of Jack Guinan, Cillian McGahan and Mark Lambe in goal, then Killanny would not have emerged winners on a scoreline of 1 – 10 to 1 – 09. Well done Lads.
