Seniors:
Last Sunday afternoon saw our Senior team in action as they kicked off their Intermediate Football Championship campaign as they took on Carrickmacross in Iniskeen. Both teams put on quite an impressive display of football with some quality scores being taken at both ends. At the end of this shootout thankfully our lads came out on top as they marched on into the next round. The next round takes place this Sunday evening at 5 o clock in Castleblayney when we take on either Emyvale or Tyholland, who face off in a replay this Wednesday evening.
Minors:
Our Minors faced St Tiarnachs in the Championship semi final on Tuesday evening last. The lads put in a good performance from start to finish and came out with a good win as they booked their place in this years Minor County Final in which they will face Magheracloone. On Friday evening the lads look to claim their place in another final as they take on Killany at home in the league semi final. Throw in is at 6.45 in Donaghmoyne. Come down to the pitch Friday evening to show your support for the lads as they look to reach another final this year.
U16s:
On Monday evening last the U16 team travelled to Killany as they took on Magheracloone in the Championship Quarter Final. This was a tough battle with both sides working very hard to try and get the win. A strong last quarter from the lads saw them take the win by the narrowest of margains. They have now qualified for the Championship semi final in which they will take on Monaghan Harps. Venue and times yet to be confirmed.
U12s:
Our U12 B team take on Ballybay at home on Thursday evening in the Division 2B League Semi Final. Throw in is at 7 o clock in Donaghmoyne. Come along Thursday evening to get behind the lads as they look to qualify for the cup final.
Mini Fontenoys:
Mini Fontenoys continue this Saturday morning from 11-12 in Donaghmoyne, weather permitting. All children from the ages of 5-10 years old are welcome. Parents are asked to get involved and help out and coach our future stars.
Speedy Recovery:
The club would like to wish Mary Markey a speedy recovery from the illness she has picked up recently.
Mouthguards:
Gum Shields have now become compulsory for both training and matches in the season ahead. It’s important all juvenile players and senior players have their mouthguard in place before entering the playing grounds. At Annual Congress in April 2012, a new rule was enacted that made it mandatory to use a mouthguard in all Gaelic football matches and training sessions from January 1st 2013 for all age grades up to and including minor. The rule will now come into effect at Under 21 and Adult level from January 1st 2014. Players will not be covered under the player injury scheme if they are not wearing a mouthguard.
Lucozade Sport Bottle Caps:
The Lucozade Sport Bottle Caps for the Donaghmoyne Club Crusade can be dropped into any of the 4 schools in the Parish, Mc Caugheys shop and also Lisdoonan Shop. Please Support.
