Lotto:
Due to the bank holiday weekend there are no lotto results this week. Results will be posted again next week.
Reserves:
Last Friday evening saw our Reserve side in Championship Final action as they took on Aughnamullen in the final of the Crawley Cup. This was a tough encounter from start to finish with both sides having to work hard in the wet conditions. Aughnamullen could have been guilty of being pretty wasteful but at the other end it was the exact opposite as our lads took the majortiy of the chances they created. Thankfully this was enough and the lads went on to claim the victory and they were crowned champions of the Crawley Cup for 2014. Well done to all the players and managers involved. Their celebrations were short lived though as they took on Sean Mc Dermotts at home in the league semi final on Wednesday evening, see next weeks notes for the result.
U21s:
The u21 league final takes place this Friday evening in which we take on Killeeven. The game is at 7.30 in Ballybay on Friday evening. All support is needed for the lads as they look to take home the silverwear so make the trip on the night to get behind the team.
Minors:
Our Minors completed their League campaign last Tuesday evening as the lads took on Scotstown away from home. See next weeks notes for the result. On Tuesday evening next the lads are in the Championship Semi Final as they take on St. Tiarnachs in Gavin Duffy Park in Monaghan. Throw in is at 7 o clock. This is a massive game for the lads as they look to book their spot in the County Final, so get down to Monaghan on Tuesday evening to get behind the team.
U12s:
Both our U12 teams fixtures for this weekend are yet to be confirmed so refer to the official fixture lists in the Northern Standard and the Monaghan GAA website.
Mini Fontenoys:
Mini Fontenoys continue this Saturday morning from 11-12 in Donaghmoyne, weather permitting. All children from the ages of 5-10 years old are welcome. Parents are asked to get involved and help out and coach our future stars. Registation will also take place for 7-10 year olds this Saturday morning at 11. Regrestration is €5 per child.
Muineachan Abu:
Firstly we would like to extended our congratulations to the Monaghan Seniors on their first win in Croke Park since 1930 in the All Ireland Qualifiers against Kildare last Saturday evening especially to our own Padraig Donaghy who represented the side. But their celebrations are also short lived as they prepare to take on Dublin again this Saturday night in the All Ireland Quarter Final. Once again, as always, we’d like to wish Padraig and all the team the very best of luck, Muineachan Abu!
Mouthguards:
Gum Shields have now become compulsory for both training and matches in the season ahead. It’s important all juvenile players and senior players have their mouthguard in place before entering the playing grounds. At Annual Congress in April 2012, a new rule was enacted that made it mandatory to use a mouthguard in all Gaelic football matches and training sessions from January 1st 2013 for all age grades up to and including minor. The rule will now come into effect at Under 21 and Adult level from January 1st 2014. Players will not be covered under the player injury scheme if they are not wearing a mouthguard.
Lucozade Sport Bottle Caps:
The Lucozade Sport Bottle Caps for the Donaghmoyne Club Crusade can be dropped into any of the 4 schools in the Parish, Mc Caugheys shop and also Lisdoonan Shop. Please Support.
