Shalotto

There was no winner of the Shalotto held in the Social Club on the 17th August 2014.  Numbers Drawn were 3-7-8-19.  Lucky Dip Winners:  Gretta Atkinson; M. Carville; Emma and Jacinta Branigan; Miriam O’Neill and Rose Lavelle.  This weekend’s Jackpot is €1,300 and our draw will take place in Atkinson’s Shamrock Bar on Sunday evening next. You may join the Annual Shalotto Scheme by contacting any member of the Club Committee.

PLEASE NOTE: ALL Shalotto tickets must be handed in by 9.30 p.m. every Sunday evening to ensure that they go into the draw.

RESULTS:

 

SENIORS:  We emerged as winner on Saturday evening last in the McGuigan Builders Intermediate Championship when we overcame a resilient Corduff team on a scoreline of Cremartin 1:11 Corduff 1:07.  A diligent team spirit and remarkable work rate particularly in the second half guaranteed our senior team a place in the next round of the championship on the 8th of September as we await the winners of Donaghmoyne v Emyvale\Tyholland.  Please See Match report elsewhere.

 

MINORS:  Our minors travelled to Oram last Tuesday evening to take on Doohamlet in the semi final of DIV II Championship.  This thrilling encounter had all the elements of a local derby producing some fine displays of football but after a long hard battle eventually Doohamlet emerged as winners on a scoreline of Cremartin 2-10 Doohamlet 2-12.  Darragh Duffy; Terry Kerr;  Enna Malone; Ryan Farrelly; Cathal Kerr;  James Lavelle; Barry Kerr (0-1); Ciaran Hanley (0-1) ; Kevin Mc Vicar (0-1); Mathew Atkinson; John Leonard; Philip McGuigan; David Hanley (0-1); Mark Brennan (1-03); Shane Carragher (1-0);   Subs: Aidan Kerr (0-2)  Shane Mulligan.

 

 

 

U14 – Table Toppers:  Our U14 team recorded a fantastic victory last Friday night against Eire Og in Smithborough.  A brilliant display of great football, hard work and pure determination has placed this team in joint top place of the table.  Please consult with official fixture list for next fixture.

 

U-12 – Book their place in the final:  Our young gallant U12 team produced an excellent, highly entertaining match against Toome last Tuesday night in the semi final of their U12 league final.  Again a truly remarkable team spirit with sheer perseverance was witnessed across the field to reward these young players with a well earned victory and booking themselves in their respective final.  The final will now take place on Saturday the 30th of August against Drumhowan.   Please consult with official fixture list for time and venue.

 

U6 U8 U10; Training on Friday evening from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.  DONT FORGET YOUR GUMSHIELS!!

 

Congratulations

The club would like to congratulate all who received their Leaving Certs results last week and wish them all the very best in their chosen careers.

Sympathy

The Club would like to take this opportunity to sincerely sympathise with Voureen McBennett on the death of her Mother Mrs Peig Clarke (nee Cunningham) and to Dairine McBennett our PRO, granddaughter of Mrs Clarke and to the entire McBennett and Clarke families.   To the family and friends of the late Delia Carragher (née Buckerfield),  Killycard, Castleblayney, Co.
