CHAMPIONSHIP ACTION:

Both codes, Men and Ladies teams were in Championship action over the last week:

Minors: The Men’s Minor team had to do it all again  against Killeevan in The Minor Championship after a draw the first time around. They made no mistake the 2nd time by being confident and determined and by recording a very impressive victory and in doing so they booked a place in the Minor Final. Congratulations to management and team.

They were in action on Tuesday evening against Castleblayney in the League Semi-Final. Report next week.

Seniors:

Corduff Senior men played Cremartin in the 1st Round of The Mc Guigan Builders Intermediate Championship last Saturday evening in Clontibret. The first half was an even enough encounter with the teams level 3 times going in at the interval on a score line of Corduff 0-5 Cremartin 0-4. The 2nd half continued with the teams level 3 more times. However the pace  increased during the last quarter with Cremartin dominating the scoreboard . A late rally from Corduff ended with a goal but Cremartin sealed the win with a 4 point margin 1-11 to 1-07. Corduff now meet Carrickmacross this Sunday with a throw-in at 1:30pm. Once again we urge all Corduff supporters to come out and support the team.

Ladies U14s:

Congratulations to the Ladies U14 team on a superb Championship win on Monday evening against St.Brigids. Led by their captain Dearbhla Callan the girls put up a spirited performance. This was a very competitive match with the girls playing some outstanding football from the goalkeeper to the forwards in what was a great team effort. Congratulations to the team and Management Pete Cassidy and Declan Kernan. They now play Doohamlet next Monday at 7pm in Corduff. Once again your support urged.

Monaghan Ladies:

We wish Ladies Club member Barbara Ward and the Monaghan Senior team and Management good luck in the TG4 Quarter final this Saturday against Galway in Birr.
