Hard luck: to Fintan Kelly and the Monaghan team on their All Ireland quarter-final defeat to Dublin. We were simply outclassed on the day; it’s worth noting though that we are the first team to hold Dublin scoreless from play for 25 minutes all year. The management and team owe us nothing from 2014; we’re Division 2 champions and playing Division 1 football next year. We beat Tyrone for the first time in 25 years in the championship, reached two consecutive Ulster Finals for the 1st time since the 40’s and a championship win in Croke Park since 1930. Not bad for the 4th smallest county in Ireland with a population of 60,000. 2015 hopefully will develop further, onwards and upwards and huge thanks to Fintan and the team for the joys and memories of 2014.
Great experience: for Rigan Graham who played in the Half Time game in Croke Park on Saturday evening, a very proud day for him and his family.
