Youth Affairs
Under 8’sand U 10’s: Training continues as usual.
U 12’s: Finn Rua just failed to hold off a strong Truagh comeback and went down by the narrow margin of 2 points in Truagh last Tuesday on a scoreline of 5-7 to 5-5. We started this game at blistering speed and were 2 goals up in the first couple of minutes. We continued this pace and finished the half well in front. Truagh came out with all guns blazing and slowly turned the screw in their favour. We couldn’t get to grips with wave after wave of attacks and with only 3 minutes left both teams were level, with late points securing victory for Truagh. This was certainly a game of two halfs!
Congratulations to Tiarnan Kearns who was awarded one of four GAA bursaries (scholarship) for St Macartan’s school in Monaghan.
On Saturday morning, both teams take on Scotstown in Scotshouse at 12 o’clock and 1.15 p.m. respectively. Your support would be appreciated.
U 16’s: Last Thursday, Patrick Emmets played a thrilling draw away in Toome on a scoreline of 7-7 to 6-10.
County football
Monaghan and Armagh meet once again in the replay on Sunday next in a double header with the Ladies in Clones. Best wishes once again to Dick, Jack, Ellen and Laura.

J.J. Connolly, Tullow, Co Carlow. R.I.P.
It was with great sadness that we in Currin G.F.C. learned of the death of J. J. Connolly, son of Gerard Connolly, formerly from the Connons. Gerard was a key playing member of the Currin club for many years before his work in the Garda Siochana took him to Carlow. Currin G.F.C. extend our sympathy to Gerard, mother Jacinta, sister Christine, her partner Mikey, niece Allanah and nephews Cathal and Brogan. We also express our condolenses to all the extended family members and friends. Go ndéana Dia trócaire ar a anam uasal.
