Corduff Notes

WALK / RUN / CYCLE: 

Keep this Sunday evening free for The Corduff Gaels Walk/Run/ Cycle which leaves from The Corduff / Raferagh Community Centre @ 6pm. There will be light refreshments on return to the Community Centre. We hope it will be an ideal Summer event combining healthy exercise and an opportunity for parents, children and the community to participate in an enjoyable fundraiser with all monies raised going directly to finance pitch maintenance. Completed cards can be returned beforehand or at registration on the day.

U6 / U8 /U10

Training is scheduled every Saturday from 10.00 to 11.15.

The next U10 Blitz will be held in Oram on July 12th from 10 – 12pm. Corduff will play Oram, Ballybay and Rockcorry.

U12

The U12s produced a great performance in a hard fought win over Clontibret in Round 4 of the Football League on Saturday July 5th. The final score in Corduff was 4-8 to 3-10. Round 5 is a home fixture against Doohamlet. Thrown is at 12.00pm on Saturday July 19th.

U14

The U14s are back in action on Tuesday July 15th. They are away to Drumhowan in Round 8 of the Football League.

U16

The U16s League Division 1 Round 9 fixture against Magheracloone ended in a 5pt defeat for Corduff. Round 10 is away to Truagh on Thursday July 10th. Throw in is at 6.45pm.

MINORS:

Minors returned to competitive action on Tuesday away to Killeevan. Next Tuesday it’s Championship action with Corduff minors at home to Emerald Sarsfields in the Preliminary round with throw-in @ 7:30pm.

SENIORS:

Monaghan Electrical Senior League action continues on Sunday with Corduff at home to Cremartin at 2pm.

LADIES:

U16s:

The u16s were in action at home to St Brigids last week. This was a great team effort from the backs to the forwards with every player putting in a huge effort. St . Brigid’s opened the scoring. Corduff had many scoring opportunities in the opening exchanges  but St. Brigids maintained a narrow lead. However with Elena McEnaney in super scoring form helped by Ellie Comiskey, Sarah McEnaney  and Bekki Carragher Corduff were never far behind and by the final whistle St. Brigids won by the narrowest margin of 2points on a scoreline of Corduff  2-12 St Brigids 3-18.

SENIORS:

INTERMEDIATE LEAGUE ACTION:

The Senior Ladies were in action again yesterday evening at home to Emyvale B.

CHAMPIONSHIP: The countdown is on to the Preliminary Round of The Intermediate Championship on Friday 18th July @ 7:15pm when Corduff host Inniskeen. This promises to be an exciting encounter between the 2 sides with both aiming to progress to the next round.

ANNUAL COFFEE MORNING:

Corduff Ladies are holding their Annual Coffee Morning and Cake Sale on Sunday week July 20th in The Community Centre directly after The Blessing Of The Graves. We are calling on all those who bake to get their aprons on and bake something. As always we appreciate all those who bake or attend with all monies going directly to the weekly upkeep of The Ladies Club. We extend an open invitation to everybody to pop in for a cup of tea and a chat which enjoying some freshly baked delights after The Blessing of The Graves in Corduff .

Congratulations and best wishes to Ladies Club member Colleen Callan who recently got engaged to Kieran Mooney.
