Best of luck:  to Fintan Kelly and the Monaghan seniors in the trip to Croke Park this Saturday evening in a do or die game against Kildare, a mouth-watering game against All Ireland champions Dublin awaits the victor.  Muineachain ABU.  The club will be providing a bus, keep an eye on our Facebook and twitter pages for times and cost.

Seniors: Next game is away to Inniskeen Saturday 9thth with a 2pm throw-in.  The lads had no football at the weekend but that didn’t stop this competitive bunch finding an activity.  There’s a little child in is all trying to get out and that was more than evident when it came to the paint balling on Saturday, they all had a great time and came home with the bruises to prove it.

Minors: St. Tiarnach’s had another great away win against the strong opposition in the Division 1 Championship quarter final last Tuesday evening against Clontibret.  With the home team leading by the minimum at half time 0:04 to 0:03.  St Tiarnach’s pushed on in the second half and showed they were the superior team, finishing strong winners on a 0:06 to 1:10 winners.  Team: Cathal Sweeney, Daragh McDermott, Ben Daly, Calvin Carlisle, Joe Gavin, Kevin Reilly, Matthew McElvaney, Dermot Gleeson, Eoin McQuaid, Ryan Rooney, James Mealiff, Micheal Tierney, James Leonard, Micheal Morgan, Conor Leonard.  Subs: Chris Cadden, Tristan Reavey, Luke Reihill, Shane Monaghan.  Injured players- James MacElwain, Cory McAree.  The next opposition for the lads in the league is Magheracloone at home next Tuesday evening with the championship semi final against Donaghmoyne on the 12th August.  Adh mór na gasúraí.

Go Games: Our Under10’s and Under8’s have taken part in a number of blitz’s over the last couple of weeks in Threemilehouse and Clontibret.  They have excelled in all and it is a pleasure to see the improvement in the players as the year goes on.  Well done parents in encouraging the children to keep at it.  Training continues on Wednesday evenings from 6 to 7.  Next blitz is U8’s on Saturday 9th August.

La breithla shona duit– our current senior backroom maestro Donal Quigley celebrated his 40th birthday recently.  Donal has been a revelation with the team this year with Micheal and Gerry and it’s given the club a real boost.  Enjoy the celebrations Donal.
