Launch of South Ulster U14 and U16 Academy’s

At a recent session players from the three squads came together to launch the South Ulster Hurling Academy which is an amalgamation of Cavan, Fermanagh and Monaghan at U14 and U16 level to compete at Academy blitzes both provincially and nationally.

The main aim of the squads is to improve the overall standards of players by giving them meaningful competitions to take part in and competitive training sessions to develop their skills. The squads will be led by the three hurling development officers in respected counties (Eoin Morrissey, Paul Divilly and Pauric Dowdall) These squads will also give coaches the opportunity to up-skill themselves through informal coaching workshops.

Players are excited with the opportunity to test themselves against the best in Ulster and beyond. An opportunity that before this initiative was not possible.
