Last Saturday morning the 21st of June 28 clubs arrived at Cloghan to back part in the 3rd GoGames blitz of the year. The morning was split into two groups with half the teams coming between 10-12 and the second group arriving between 12-2.
The success and growth of the GoGames was clear to see on Saturday with 520 children taking part who where split into 46 teams (most clubs took two teams). But the success of the blitz would not have happened unless their was referees! 30 young whistlers also took to the fields on Saturday to oversee the blitz. It was great to see so many young referees on show and it bodes wells for the future of Monaghan refereeing.
We would just like to thank all the clubs who took part, both all the players and the mentors who made the day such a success. Also thanks to the referees and Cloghan for the use of the facilities. The next blitz takes place this Thursday evening between 7-9. It is a double blitz (U8 & U10) so there will be plenty of football for everyone.
Finally, the rescheduled U10 All County GoGames blitz will now take place in Cloghan on Saturday the 12th of July. This will be a family Fun Day with different activities taking place throughout the blitz. Further details will follow shortly.
