Seniors:
The Intermediate Football League resumed during last weekend as our Seniors took on neighbours Carrick away from home on Sunday afternoon. This was a tight encounter played in poor weather conditions making it difficult for both teams to play good football. Come full time there was very little between the sides as Carrick ran out single point victors over the visitors. They will look to bounce back this Sunday when they take on Sean Mc Dermotts at home at 12.30. Come out on Sunday morning to show your support for the lads.
Minors:
Our Minors season continued on Tuesday evening last as they took on Monaghan Harps at home. This encounter was played on a wet evening in Donaghmoyne making playing conditions very difficult. The lads stuck to their task well for the hour, not very pretty at times but kept working hard and eventually got the result they deserved as they ran out three point victors. This win meant they now go into the break with seven wins from seven games in Division One, a good platform to build on for the business end of the season to come, but keeping in mind no trophies are handed out for wins in May.
U16s
Our U16s continue their league campaign at home against Scotstown on Thursday evening. Throw in is at 7.30 in Donaghmoyne, come out Thursday evening as the lads to get their season back on track.
U14s:
The U14s have their next league game at home against Sean Mc Dermotts on Friday evening. Throw in is at 7.30 in Donaghmoyne, come get behind our stars of the future this Friday evening.
Mini Fontenoys:
Mini Fontenoys continue this Saturday morning from 11-12 in Donaghmoyne, weather permitting. All children from the ages of 5-10 years old are welcome. Parents are asked to get involved and help out and coach our future stars. Registation will also take place for 7-10 year olds this Saturday morning at 11. Regrestration is €5 per child.
Lotto Sellers Wanted:
Any children in the parish who would be interested in taking up a lotto selling route would be more than welcome as we would like to cover more and as much of the parish as possible. Each child selling lottos will also receive a commission. Anyone interested can contact Brian on 0872915864.
Mouthguards:
Gum Shields have now become compulsory for both training and matches in the season ahead. It’s important all juvenile players and senior players have their mouthguard in place before entering the playing grounds. At Annual Congress in April 2012, a new rule was enacted that made it mandatory to use a mouthguard in all Gaelic football matches and training sessions from January 1st 2013 for all age grades up to and including minor. The rule will now come into effect at Under 21 and Adult level from January 1st 2014. Players will not be covered under the player injury scheme if they are not wearing a mouthguard.
Lucozade Sport Bottle Caps:
The Lucozade Sport Bottle Caps for the Donaghmoyne Club Crusade can be dropped into any of the 4 schools in the Parish, Mc Caugheys shop and also Lisdoonan Shop. Please Support.
