Lotto:
No Lotto results this week due to the bank holiday weekend, lotto results next week
Seniors:
The Intermediate Football League resumed during last week as our Seniors took on Iniskeen away from home Wednesday evening. This was a tight encounter played in damp weather conditions making it difficult for both teams to play good football. There was nothing between the two sides at full time, and the points were shared. They returned to action on Wednesday evening of this week against Tyholland at home, see next weeks notes for the result. On Sunday next the lads make the short trip to take on neighbours Carrickmacross away from home. Throw in is at 2 o clock. Come along and show your support for the lads.
Minors:
Our Minors season continued on Tuesday evening last as they took on Monaghan Harps at home. See next weeks notes and results for match result.
U16s:
Our U16s continued their league campaign away from home against Corduff on Thursday evening last. The lads put in a good shift but just couldn’t get the result they were looking for. The final score did not reflect the effort the lads put in, but leaves plenty of work to be done for the near future.
U14s:
The U14s had their fourth league game away from home against Latton last Saturday morning. The lads were up against it right from the start, but still put in a good effort from start to finish. They couldn’t get the result they had hoped for but signs of improvement where noticeable and gives them plenty of optimism for the times ahead.
U12s:
On Saturday morning both U12 training continues at 10.45. Full attendance needed with competitive season just around the corner.
Speedy Recovery:
The club would like to wish our Senior Player Frank Markey a speedy recovery from the injury he received in the game against Iniskeen last Wednesday night and look forward to seeing him back on the playing field asap.
Recently Deceased:
The club would like to extend its sympathies to the families and friends of Mary Cadogan, Cork, formerly Mary Bishop, Dooragh, who has died recently.
Mini Fontenoys:
Mini Fontenoys continue this Saturday morning from 11-12 in Donaghmoyne, weather permitting. All children from the ages of 5-10 years old are welcome. Parents are asked to get involved and help out and coach our future stars. Registation will also take place for 7-10 year olds this Saturday morning at 11. Regrestration is €5 per child.
Lotto Sellers Wanted:
Any children in the parish who would be interested in taking up a lotto selling route would be more than welcome as we would like to cover more and as much of the parish as possible. Each child selling lottos will also receive a commission. Anyone interested can contact Brian on 0872915864.
Mouthguards:
Gum Shields have now become compulsory for both training and matches in the season ahead. It’s important all juvenile players and senior players have their mouthguard in place before entering the playing grounds. At Annual Congress in April 2012, a new rule was enacted that made it mandatory to use a mouthguard in all Gaelic football matches and training sessions from January 1st 2013 for all age grades up to and including minor. The rule will now come into effect at Under 21 and Adult level from January 1st 2014. Players will not be covered under the player injury scheme if they are not wearing a mouthguard.
